Media Center Policies
Checkouts / Overdue Notices
Books in the media center are available to checkout for a three-week period. Students are expected to return or renew media center resources by the due date stamped on that resource. To avoid overdue fines, simply stop by the circulation desk and ask Ms. Myers, Ms. Whitney or a media aide to renew your books .
Overdue notices are sent to a student's advisory every month throughout the school year. For print resources, fines are collected at 10 cents per day the item is overdue and will not exceed $10.00. Lost or damaged resources will be charged the cost of the item for replacement.
Computer Use
Students are expected to follow the Telecommunications Policy for Carroll County Public Schools at all times.
Passes
During regular school hours, including flex and lunch mods, students not accompanied by a teacher must have a pass to enter the Media Center. Students having passes are expected to sign in and out at the front desk and show their pass to a Media Center staff member.
- Lunch: Students must go to the cafeteria and get a pass from a Hall Monitor before coming to the Media Center; students must remain in the media center during the entire period.
- Key Time: Students must sign-up in the Media Center before school and remain in the Media Center during the entire period. Students are limited to two Key Time visits per week unless they get permission from Ms. Myers or Ms. Whitney in advance.
